Lawton Community Schools has a rich history. It is the goal of the newly created LCS Blue Devil Hall of Fame Committee to recognize those individuals and groups that achieved greatness in a variety of categories including: Athletics; Business or Career Accomplishments; and School/Community Contributions.
The committee is proud to announce the first recipients of this honor. They are:
Charles Gibson - LHS alumnus and longest serving Superintendent
Ver Hitchcock - founder of food service program
Robert Packer - LHS alumnus, benefactor and business leader
David Stephayn - LHS alumnus, accomplished athlete and community leader
Frank Sipes - LCS retiree, accomplished teacher and track/field coach
The 1985-87 Wrestling Teams - coached by Stan DeVoir and Mike Garvey won 3 consecutive team state titles
The individuals will be recognized at a ceremony between the girls and boys varsity basketball games on Friday 1/23.
The Wrestling Teams will be recognized at a ceremony preceding the varsity wrestling meet on Wed. 1/21 at 5:45pm.
The community is encouraged to attend these events and show support for these very deserving Hall of Famers!
